Momentum Funding Summer Social: An Auction for a Cause
On June 20th, 2018, Momentum Funding proudly hosted their first Annual Summer Social in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida. The event was held in duration of the week of the Florida Justice Association’s Convention. Special guests Senator Gary Farmer and Attorney General Candidate Sean Shaw were in attendance and held a meet and greet.
The silent auction was held for Derek Matson, who later in the evening made a surprise visit with his father. Derek was injured in a shallow water boating accident, becoming a quadriplegic. 100% of the funds raised in the auction went to him. With the help of a little friendly rivalry between the UF Gator fans and the FSU Knight fans, as well as the many attorneys who attended and contributed, Momentum Funding raised $23,000. This amount will help pay for a new electric wheel chair for Derek and assist with medical bills.
Speaking on behalf of the Momentum Funding Team, President and Co-Founder Elizabeth Pekin states, “It’s truly remarkable to see what happens when people come together for a greater cause. We are grateful to be a part of a community that gives back.”
